Additionally, offering incentives or rewards for meeting or exceeding performance targets can help boost motivation. Creating a positive and supportive work environment where team members feel valued and empowered is also important. Regular team-building activities and training opportunities can also contribute to boosting morale and motivation.

To identify our team's needs we need to understand how the ideal process looks like. We need to measure and allocate needed resources for addressing our needs; we need to collect information both internally and externally to understand what we are missing. Feedback - invite the team members and other stakeholders to share ideas. Then we need to use the data obtained in improving our process and achieve the desired outcomes.

It is important that our objectives are clear and understood by everyone, create visibility for them and discuss progress. Our objectives must be manageable, we need to simplify them. Ensure specificity, explain them to all relevant members, be able to measure them (define KPIs, standards and results desired). Larger goals should be divided into smaller ones with achievable steps and should be realistic with our responsibility and available resources. We should also celebrate each milestone

One overlooked step is ensuring psychological safety in the team. It is important to be available for your team members and actively listen. A team's culture can be also developed based on the support they receive; and sometimes a habit is developed where people act because there is no support. The habits established in the team have impact on the results.

Personal and professional growth are tied, and one cannot be without the other. Offer face-to-face training, materials, even reimbursement for courses taken by employees. Online academies or apps/portals must be available. Employees must be allowed to spend time in other departments and learn what challenges are also there. Create a culture of growth where people are comfortable to ask questions and experiment. There are insights in different area of expertise, not only in the department's scope.
