Public Health Education

The Lifespan Local public health team has been active in 11 communities of Southwest Denver since December 2019. The team’s initial focus was ensuring community members had access to reliable information and resources pertaining to COVID-19. Through advocacy and partnerships, the Public Health education teams will continue to engage with and provide relevant public health information to the residents of SW Denver.

The Lifespan Local public health team's primary focus is on promoting healthy nutrition and providing education about diabetes, rather than solely addressing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While the team is still available to answer any questions community members may have about COVID-19, their main efforts are dedicated to tackling the critical public health issues of poor diet and the rising rates of diabetes.

By attending local events, offering health resource navigation assistance, and conducting targeted community outreach, the public health professionals are able to directly engage with residents and deliver vital information and support.

A Community Partnership

Lifespan Local Public Health team is thankful for partnerships and cooperation with organizations such as Denver Health, local libraries and schools, small businesses, community associations, religious entities, among others who have supported the teams efforts in providing pertinent public health information and resources to the community.

Today the team continues to provide information and resources related to COVID and is currently embarking on expanding the topics it covers.

Stay tuned as we update the website to incorporate new topics.
