Although mainly used for EV driving, the engine is started when instantaneous power is needed, such as when the accelerator is pressed hard. Achieving a dynamic acceleration using the motor and engine.

HV model is valuable to help conserve battery power. Starts and stops the engine depending on the system status. When the battery level is low, it will automatically switch to HV mode, and when the charge level is restored through regenerative braking or acceleration. However, it will automatically return to EV mode or switch to other modes.

Even when accelerating, the engine will not start, and the vehicle will be driven only by the motor. Allowing you to use pure electric driving. However, if the battery level becomes insufficient the engine will then start.
