Celebrating twenty years of business, Lark has elevated the standard for modern American restaurants in the Northwest. We invite you to share in chef John Sundstrom’s award winning cuisine in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, welcomed by legendary hosts and co-owners Kelly Ronan and J.M. Enos.
Opened in 2003, and relocated to a stunning new space in December of 2014, Lark is an artisan-focused restaurant in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Chef John Sundstrom, a James Beard Award-winner, is known for his intimate knowledge and deft use of the Northwest’s unique ingredients and has created the perfect place to celebrate the bounty of the region. The four-course menu changes each month highlighting the best seasonal products available. Lark was honored with Restaurant Design of the Year at the Seattle Design Awards in 2015.
the LARK Cookbook
Chef John Sundstrom originally published his first cookbook Lark: Cooking Against the Grain as a deluxe hardcover edition featuring over 75 recipes. It tells the story of Lark and shares his recipes for cooking through the seasons of the Pacific Northwest. Sundstrom celebrates the distinctly moody and majestic Northwest and its bounty of ingredients with this collection of signature recipes and full-color photographs.
A new edition of the cookbook was published by Sasquatch Books in 2016 under the title Lark: Cooking Wild in the Northwest. In this new paperback edition Sundstrom adds a chapter devoted to Lark’s favorite everyday kitchen staples, including recipes for bitters, cordials, and syrups; dressings; breads; and smoked and pickled foods. Both editions are available for purchase through our in the Lark Shop section of our takeout store, or custom gift orders can be shipped by calling the restaurant.
