'Paws for Fashion:' Inside the CHAMP Assistance Dogs' fashion show and luncheon

Pups, with panache, joined the haute couture scene in May for CHAMP Assistance Dogs’ special event, “Paws for Fashion,” at the Bogey Club in Ladue.

Proceeds support therapy and assistance dogs, helping to improve lives through the bond of canine-human companionship.

Guests were enthusiastically greeted by CHAMP therapy dogs Ivy and Hazel in a meet-and-greet session, mingling over refreshments before the event began. As pups and models prepared backstage, attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, watched a video presentation about the organization's mission and heard a few heartfelt remarks from CHAMP Executive Director Pam Budke. The highlight of the event was the catwalk show, where assistance dogs accompanied models to showcase clothing from local boutique Tradd Street, presented by owner Nina Engelsmann.

“The event is important because it highlights CHAMP’s incredible services to individuals with disabilities, its outreach to the community and its numerous education programs.” – Nina Engelsmann and underwriter Diane Buhr Engelsmann
