Gordon Collier is an award-winning journalist who first joined the KWTX news team in 1990.
He started his career in Waco as a weekend weatherman and general assignments reporter.
He also headed up a consumer affairs segment for several years.
His coverage of the Branch Davidian standoff in 1993 caught the attention of a news director in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he moved later that year.
In 1996, he accepted the main anchor position at KWTX and eagerly returned to his home state of Texas.
Over the years, Gordon has covered numerous major stories, including the Luby's Massacre, Hurricane Andrew, the Branch Davidian Stand-off, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Jarrell Tornado, the Fort Hood shooting, the trial of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hassan, the Crisis on the Border and the War in Iraq.
His reports from the war zone earned him an Emmy nomination and several other awards.
In his spare time, Gordon enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his children and his beloved wife Bonnie.
His hobbies include mountain biking, hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and camping.
Gordon is also an accomplished musician. His band "The Gordon Collier Band" has won numerous "Groovy Awards" from the Music Association of Central Texas and is a fan favorite at festivals and dancehall across the region.
They have opened shows for Earl Thomas Conley, David Allen Coe, Johnny Lee, T.G. Sheppard, Pat Green, Mark Chestnut, Wade Bowen, and many more.
