WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Vincent Hendrix, 42, is charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault on a public servant after he attacked two women, and then assaulted a female officer as he was being booked into jail, arrest warrants state.

On June 8, a sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a corner store in the 100 block of S. McLennan Drive after a woman reported a man she did not know simply walked up to her and punched her in the face while screaming profanities. The woman suffered bruising on her face and a swollen eye, the deputy wrote in the warrant.

She described the suspect as a “white man wearing flower shorts and a white shirt,” the warrants state. The deputy then received another dispatch call regarding a suspect with the same description who had just assaulted another woman at the Elm Mott Post Office.

When the deputy from the original call arrived at the post office, another sheriff’s deputy had already responded to the scene and detained the suspect, identified in the warrants as Hendrix.

The victim at the post office told the deputies she was walking in and spotted Hendrix “screaming incoherently” and she decided to walk away from him. The woman soon realized Hendrix was walking right behind her.

Hendrix, according to the warrants, pulled the woman’s hair and then punched her in the face. The victim suffered a purple bruise knot right above her eye, the deputies said.

Furthermore, as he was being booked into the McLennan County Jail, Hendrix kicked a female officer in the stomach, causing pain in her abdominal area, the warrants allege.

He is being held at the McLennan County Jail. The bond amounts have not yet been set.
