Austin man drowns in Belton’s Nolan Creek

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) - Arturo Chagolla, 55, of Austin, drowned after he jump into Nolan Creek to swim and was swept away by the current, Belton police said.
It happened near Liberty Park shortly before 9 p.m. on July 8.
First responders who arrived at the scene performed CPR, but Chagolla was later pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman.
No further information was provided.
