Temple police say missing 5-year-old found safe

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - UPDATE: The Temple Police Department says 5-year-old Gus Spearman was found safe by the Port Arthur Police Department and he is being returned to his custodial parents.

The Temple Police Department says they are investigating a non-custodial parent-child abduction involving 5-year-old Gus Spearman.
On July 6, at around 1:50 p.m., police say they were sent to the 3100 block of South 31st Street on reports of a child abduction by a non-custodial parent.
Police say they spoke with Spearman’s dad who said the mother, 26-year-old Autumn Davis who does not have custody, took Spearman during a supervised visitation.
Davis was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and flip-flops. Spearman was last seen wearing a brown shirt and orange shorts.
Police say Davis and Spearman were last seen in the food court of the Temple Mall.
Temple police say they have requested a localized Amber Alert.
