WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here’s this week’s restaurant report card for Central Texas:

King Donut at 2720 Bellmead Drive in Bellmead failed a renewal inspection with a 72.

According to the food safety worker, the plain kolache, boudin kolache, bacon crescent sausage roll, and jumbo jalapeno kolaches were not kept at the right temperature.

The nozzles above the cappuccino machine and iced coffee machine had an unknown green substance on them.

Apparently, one of the employees was washing and drying the dishes, and not sanitizing them.

There was a bottle of “OFF” bug repellent and hydrogen peroxide stored right above the coffee, plus other some violations.

Alpha Omega at 929 Franklin Avenue in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a 75.

According to the food safety worker, some raw beef, chicken, lamb, feta cheese, diced tomatoes and milk were not kept at the same temperature.

They were thrown out.

There was some raw chicken stored right above the ready-to-eat green peppers and onions, and also above some raw beef.

There were cracked and/or dirty containers, lids and plates.

Some had old-green and white substances on them.

One of the coolers was not kept at the right temperature.

There were other issues as well dealing with cleanliness.

Adam’s Drive-In at 1721 Trice Avenue in Waco failed a routine inspection with a 79.

According to the food safety worker, some raw shell eggs were stored improperly.

Some utensils were stored in a container of gray water and debris.

Another container had old food debris.

There was an unlabeled sanitizer container on the prep table.

The microwave had old food encrusted inside and a slew of other issues that dealt with dust and grease build-up.

All of these businesses needed re-inspection.

And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to Heritage Creamery at 1125 South 8th Street in Waco.

It’s perfect for this time of year.

Pick your flavor.

Pick your style; scoop, sandwich, cone, shake, float, or pint.

Ice-cold creamy goodness from a locally owned and operated business.

You can’t beat that.
