COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Back in May the Texas A&M Board of Regents approved an 80 million dollar renovation to Olsen Field.

The ‘shack by the tracks’ received a massive face lift back in 2012.

The goal this go around is to not only expand the seating capacity at Mr. Olsen’s baseball palace - Blue Bell Park at C.E. Pat Olsen Field from 8,000 to more than 10,000, but also create a better fan experience along with improving player development that will now have new Head Baseball Coach Michael Earley’s fingerprints on it.

“That’s what I love about Texas A&M, there is a standard here about excellence relative to facilities,” said Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts on Tuesday. “Basically, what I told every candidate, what I told Michael was. I think there’s a really good plan in place, but there is also stuff with it. That is part of player development, and ultimately now Michael will sit down with us and our team and he may have some slight alterations to what the previous vision was and he will be able to provide that input,” added Alberts.

Alberts added that the cost of the project is going to be tied to game revenue.
