COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - New Texas A&M head baseball coach Michael Earley’s welcoming ceremony drew hundreds at the Hall of Champions Wednesday afternoon, but it wasn’t just fans in attendance.

A handful of A&M baseball players also stopped by to show their support of the new head man. Jace LaViolette, Chris Cortez, Ryan Prager and Josh Stewart were among those in the crowd.

It’s no secret that Earley was who the players wanted to be the next head man, and they wanted to back up their support by showing up.

“We were all texting and we thought it would be a really good sign to be here and support him,” Josh Stewart, Texas A&M pitcher said. “A lot of us were sending messages and calls like Athletic Director Trev Alberts said... Jace called him a bunch, and so we figured it would be a good show to come here and support him when he’s getting introduced as the new head coach.”
