KILLEEN, Texas - This week’s Be Remarkable takes us out to Killeen, where a teacher is working around the clock to provide lessons and give love to her students at Live Oak Ridge Middle School.

“Thank you for being a remarkable person and someone to remark about, because we need more people like you in the community. And thank you for being so selfless with your time and your resources and just loving on the people that you’re able to give back to,” Linda McMillan, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.

Dana Leshock teaches during the day and works at Bubba’s 33 at night - and in between she finds the time to help everyone she can - especially the families of the students she teaches, some of whom may need meals to get them through difficult situations.

“I always want to help everybody, no matter what.  It’s just a passion of mine, seeing people go through what they go through, and not being able to get through, they lose their job. I mean, it happens. I just-I love helping people. And if I can’t help them, I find ways to help them. No matter what,” Dana Leshock, Be Remarkable Winner.

Friends and co-workers from school and Bubba’s made sure to nominate her for the Be Remarkable Award, which comes with a 500-dollar reward, thanks to the good folks from Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.

She also wanted no credit for any of it, but her friends Haily and Theresa made sure to shine a light on her work, maybe inspiring us to do a little more for others in our own lives.

If you know of a Remarkable person, nominate them at www.kwtx.com/BeRemarkable. And if you want to get out on the front lines like Mary, contact your local VA.
