Suspect in fatal Irving Chick-Fil-A shooting arrested

IRVING, Texas (KWTX) - The Irving Police Department says they’ve arrested the suspect involved in a fatal Chick-Fil-A shooting that killed two people Wednesday afternoon.

Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, is charged with capital murder and has an immigration hold.

On June 26, police responded to the 5300 block of North MacArthur Boulevard on reports of a shooting incident.

When officers arrived on scene, police say they learned that two people were killed in the shooting.

Police say they identified the suspect as Argueta and arrested him at around 2:50 a.m. Thursday morning.

Argueta was booked in the Irving City Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
