Affidavit: Waco woman arrested after slashing boyfriend’s face with razor during argument

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco woman was arrested for cutting her boyfriend’s face with a razor during an argument, an affidavit alleges.

Patricia Marie Martinez, 28, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

On June 26 at around 3:20 a.m., police were sent to the 4900 block of Bagby Avenue on reports of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, they met with Martinez’s boyfriend who claimed she assaulted him, the affidavit states.

Martinez’s boyfriend, according to the affidavit, told police that Martinez was at their apartment drinking alcohol when they got into an argument.

The boyfriend continued, claiming Martinez began to get upset with what he was saying, leading her to cut his face with a razor, the affidavit alleges.

Police say they saw multiple cuts and slash marks on the boyfriend’s face.

The boyfriend finished his statement telling police that Martinez and two small children were inside the apartment.

Police entered the apartment to speak with Martinez and noticed the apartment was messy as if there had been a fight, the affidavit states.

Martinez, according to the affidavit, told police that her boyfriend had been drinking all day and they got into an argument that turned physical.

She claimed her boyfriend confronted her about things and began assaulting her by grabbing her neck and slamming her head into the TV stand several times, the affidavit states.

Police say they did not see any red marks around Martinez’s neck or any other indications that she was assaulted as she described.

Police spoke with Martinez’s boyfriend again where he presented them videos showing Martinez as the aggressor in the incident and said she used a blue razor to assault him, according to the affidavit.

While speaking with Martinez about her boyfriend’s allegations, the affidavit states police noticed a blue razor in the kitchen that the boyfriend described.

Additionally, Martinez denied the allegations her boyfriend made against her.

Martinez was subsequently arrested and booked in the McLennan County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
