WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco man was arrested after hitting a 4-year-old boy in the face with a belt, an affidavit alleges.

Xavion Rauls, 24, is charged with injury to a child reckless bodily injury.

An officer with the Waco Police Department was assigned a CPS investigation involving allegations made against Rauls.

According to the affidavit, the victim alleged that Rauls hit him in the face with a belt.

Authorities were given pictures of the victim’s injuries and saw a visible injury to the right side of the victim’s face, the affidavit states.

During a forensic interview, the affidavit alleges the victim said he was afraid of Rauls and that Rauls always hits hard and leaves marks.

Authorities contacted Rauls who was unwilling to give personal information or cooperate with the investigation, according to the affidavit.

Rauls was subsequently arrested and booked in the McLennan County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
