OMAHA, Nebraska (KBTX) - Texas A&M baseball dropped game three of the Men’s College World Series Finals to Tennessee 6-5.

The Volunteers captured their first national title in program history.

The Aggies finished the season with a 53-15 record and made their first appearance in the CWS Finals. After A&M took game one 9-5, Tennessee forced a game three with a 4-1 victory in game two.

A&M chipped away at the Tennessee lead with a Jackson Appell RBI single in the ninth inning to make it 6-4. Appell later scored on a wild pitch to make it a one-run game.

Hayden Schott had an RBI single, and Caden Sorrell had an RBI double in the eighth inning.

Gavin Grahovac tied the game 1-1 in the third inning with an RBI single.

Dylan Dreiling launched his third home run of the championship series with a 2 RBI homer in the seventh inning to take a 5-1 lead.

Christian Moore started the scoring for the Vols with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first. Dreiling also had a sac fly in the third and Dean Curley had an RBI single in the third.

Kavares Tears added an insurance run for the Vols with an RBI double in the seventh inning.

Justin Lamkin started on the mound for the Aggies and threw 2.2 innings allowing five hits and three runs with two strikeouts.

Josh Stewart threw 2.1 innings of relief allowing two hits and no runs with one strikeout. Evan Aschenbeck threw 3.0 innings with three strikeouts, allowing six hits and three runs.
