Thousands of Aggies make the trek to Omaha to witness history

Fans flock to Omaha to witness A&M history

OMAHA, Nebraska (KBTX) - Maroon and orange flooded Charles Schwab Field and the streets in Omaha as fans hope to witness their team win the program’s first national title.

Texas A&M is competing in the College World Series final for the first time in program history and fans are wanting to be part of the history.

Some people have been here since last Friday while others rushed up Friday and Saturday just hours before the start of game one.

“It has been absolutely awesome,” Sandy Peck of College Station said. “We’ve been waiting for a national championship fro this team for a long long time, and we have had a great time. Omaha has been wonderful and the boys have been great.”

“We drove up yesterday and got here today,” Sandy Nigh of Bryan said. “We wouldn’t miss this. I’ve been waiting my whole life for this. Everybody said to get up here. This is a once in a life time opportunity to be here for the first world series college game of many.”

“We’re coming in from Belton, Texas an 11 hour drive,” Jarrett Crowell, A&M Class of 2018 said. “We came here to support our Fightin Texas Aggies and excited for the series.”

“I came up because I really love Aggie baseball, and it’s the first time in my lifetime that we’ve ever been here. I’m just thankful for that,” Jill Brennan, age seven of Houston said.”

The Aggies must win two out of the three games to clinch the title.
