On June 21, at around 5:30 p.m., officers were sent to HEB on reports of a theft.

When officers arrived in the parking lot, police say Clay saw the police patrol unit and started running to his vehicle.

As Clay started running, police say he left his shopping cart, causing it to strike a vehicle.

Shortly after, police say Clay left his vehicle and an on-foot pursuit ensued, leading to Clays arrest.

Following his arrest, officers searched Clay and found methamphetamine, according to police.
