HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas - This week’s Be Remarkable takes us out to Harker Heights, where a veteran continues to serve, by being an essential part of preventing food insecurity throughout community.

“When you when you really, truly give and you want to see people in the community better, it has to come from the heart. It can’t be something that you just do just to do it, has come from the heart,” Byron Sago, Be Remarkable Winner.

Byron Sago started Blessings on the Block, which delivers food boxes to several schools in Killeen ISD and also recently started a mobile unit that serves children, families, and community members that may not be able to get to a building location.

Julene Figueroa nominated Byron and sees firsthand the impact his mission has had.

“I nominated Pastor Sago for this award because he does so much for our children, our families and the community. He, you know, brings out food to our centers, you know, to reduce food insecurities as well as making better food choices for our family,” Julene Figeroa, Nominator.

Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers started the Be Remarkable Award to honor people who are making a difference, like Byron.

“That’s incredible. It’s something to remark about. And one of our core values at Daniel Stark is to be remarkable. And that’s why we do our be Remarkable program is that we ask the community to find people like you to remark about so that we can give back to you guys,” Linda McMillan, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.
