Jeffrey Philip Talley April 27, 1958 – June 7, 2024

Jeffrey Philip Talley, 66, of Lake Limestone, TX, passed away on June 7, 2024, after complications of dementia. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to follow. Jeff was born on April 27, 1958 to JP and Dorcas (Vaught) Talley in Dallas, TX. After Jeff graduated from Skyline High School in 1976, he went on to study business at the University of Houston. There he met lifelong friends John Latvatalo, Howard Selzer, and Simon Sun; the group later included his brother, John, and friend, David Hurst.

After graduating, he enjoyed a nearly 45-year career in trusts and investments. He was remarkable at what he did and incredibly smart. He retired in 2023 from Extraco Banks in Waco, TX. He enjoyed career-long relationships with colleagues from Kanaly Trust Company and Transamerica.

In 1985, Jeff met Deborah Linebarger at the First National Bank in Midland, TX where they both worked in the trust department. Jeff and Debi had two children, Margaret and Meredith. As a family, they enjoyed traveling the United States and spending time at the Lake House. The family will continue to laugh about the “Jeff-isms” he regularly used and his dry and witty sense of humor.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, JP and Dorcas; his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Mamie Katherine “Katy” Linebarger; his aunts, Farris Kelly, and husband Johnny, Helen Peacock, Charlene Camp, and husband Stewart, Sarah Diggs and husband Bob; and Cousin Laura Camp among others.

He is survived by his wife, Debi; his daughter, Maggie Talley, and her two children, Winnie and Birdie; his daughter and son-in-law, Meredith and Chuck Roberts, and daughter, Cameron; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Rebecca Talley; his niece and her family, Rachel and Haley Gaddis, Greer, Gunner, and Grayson; friends John and Marla Latvatalo, Howard and Lisa Selzer, Joe and Patti Aarons, and David and Cindy Hurst.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association; or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Toys for Tots - charities Jeff regularly supported. Honorary pallbearers are John Talley, John Latvatalo, Howard Selzer, David Hurst, Joe Aarons, and Chuck Roberts.

We invite you to leave a message or memory on Jeff’s “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com
