Authorities searching for Mississippi attempted murder suspect believed to be in Texas

ELLIS COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding an attempted murder suspect from Mississippi they believe to be in Texas.

The attempted murder happened on Jan. 11, 2024, in the 7400 block of highway 49 Hattiesburg Mississippi.

Authorities describe the suspect as a 6′2″ to 6′4″ tall Black man weighing between 275 and 350 pounds.

According to authorities, surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a black and red jacket underneath a black “SOX” baseball letterman jacket, gray jogging pants and brown/tan work boots.

The suspect is one of two who fled the scene in a 2008 through 2010 white 4-door Honda Accord with tinted windows and a sunroof.

He is believed to be in the Austin of Dallas/Fort Worth area, authorities say.
