Ghost of Tsushima: Directors Cut:

Amongst the sweeping vistas of the island of Tsushima a Mongol invasion begins wiping out nearly every samurai on the island. Jin Sakai is the only survivor, now he must rescue his uncle, help the people of Tsushima and stop the Mongols. This PC release sees the samurai adventure taken to it’s highest settings, with improved frame rate, higher quality textures, full 4K support and wide screen play. This was my game of the year back in 2020 and is still one of my favorite games of all time. A perfect blend of inspired world design and beautiful weapon choreography. I’m thrilled new players will get to experience the full game and it’s DLC when this once PlayStation exclusive launches on PC May 16th.

Hellblade II:

Following up on the sleeper hit that was Hellblade, Ninja Theory is finally unleashing the psychological action sequel in Hellblade II. Senua’s Saga continues as she ventures to save those who have fallen victim to the oppressive horrors of tyranny. Once again faced with her psychosis and darkness she must fight the demons within and without. Using state of the art motion capture, Ninja Theory has made one of the most realistic characters in recent memory and Hellblade II looks to extend that authenticity to all aspects of it’s Viking world. Cinematically fight back your darkest thoughts with Senua when Hellblade II launches May 21st as Xbox Series S/X console exclusive and on PC.

XDefiant:

This one is on here because I won’t believe it’s out until I see it. After nearly two years of delays, alpha and beta testing and several gameplay changes, Ubisoft’s free-to-play first person shooter is finally launching...probably. Featuring a cast of characters inspired by Ubisoft’s catalogue of games, XDefiant is defined by it’s abilities and smooth gunplay. I played the beta and have high hopes for this one. Lock and load when XDefiant Launches May 21st for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Those are just a small taste of what May has to offer. You can find the full list at the QR code on your screen or by visiting the Hardwired Gaming tab on KWTX.com. As we approach the reveal season for games, I’m going to say what I’ve been saying all year, show a developer whose games bring you joy some love. Because it seems like even the best in the business can suffer at the cruel hands of corporate shenanigans. So spread some support for the person behind the pixels....Oh and call your mom, it’s Mother’s day this weekend! For Hardwired, I’m Andrew Hamilton
