TEMPLE, Texas - This week’s Be Remarkable takes us out to Temple where an Army veteran, a man who fought for our freedom, continues to go above and beyond to serve the folks in his community.

“Nate is the man. He hangs Christmas lights, he starts your weed eater, he helps you with everything you need done,” Francis Legington, Nominator.

A father of three, Nate Quarberg is just welcomed a newborn with his wife, but he still treats neighbors like family and has the stories to prove it.

“I’m on my patio one Sunday morning and I happen to look in the corner and there is this biiiig snake. I call 9-1-1, Micky goes and gets Nate, Nate wrangles the snake. Nate helps everybody in the neighborhood,” Francis Legington, Nominator.

Francis says if there is a problem with someone’s car, Nate will fix it. Not just the car but lawnmowers, and anything else that can be repaired.

During the winter freeze almost more than three years ago, Nate was the one who went to the neighbor’s heating units and removed the ice from the units before he restarted them.

“Why do you have this heart, where does this come from?” Linda McMullen, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.

“I guess it’s how I was raised, and my work ethic, I was raised on a farm and taught to help out your neighbors and don’t expect anything in return,” Nate Quarberg, Be Remarkable Winner.

These are just some of the reasons Nate is so remarkable and was honored by Francis, her husband Mickey, and the good folks at Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.

“On behalf of Daniel Stark, we’d like to give you a check for $500 and just tell you thank you for being who you are and having the heart that you have. This is why we do what we do,” Linda McMullen, Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers.

If you know of a Remarkable person, nominate them at www.kwtx.com/BeRemarkable. And if you want to get out on the front lines like Mary, contact your local VA.
