Ah spring is here and with it blooms the elusive “spring release flowers” that thrive in the mix of rain and sunshine! So as long as nothing I don’t know, like blots out the sun we’ll get a nice steady string of releases in...oh no what is that! ITs...ITS...ITS OH ... ITs just the overflowing amount of great titles coming out this month. Fortunately for you, I won’t let this eclipse overwhelm you, I’m Andrew Hamilton and I’m here to lead you through all the incredible games releasing this month in your April edition of The Download!

Children of the Sun:

Speaking of the Sun, Children of the Sun is coming this month. After a Cult and it’s Leader destroy her life THE GIRL, all caps, seeks vengeance in this unique puzzle shooter. Burning with magical power, you must use a single sniper round to take down every enemy in each of the levels. Once the bullet leaves the gun, you are full control of its motion. Think like a witchy version of the movie Wanted. Plan your vengeance carefully and take down the Leader when Children of the Sun comes to PC on April 9th.

Tales of Kenzura:

We are also getting a lot of unique styles of art in our games perhaps best represented by Tales of Kenzura: Zau. A poignant story, based on Assassin’s Creed Origins actor Abubakar Salim’s own experiences with grief and healing. Discover the dances of the Sun and Moon as you move through Zau’s own emotional journey to use the great powers of the two masks to return his father to the land of the living. Inspired by Bantu lore and folk tales this games world is truly something else. Become one in the dance of life and death when Tales of Kenzura : Zau releases April 23rd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, Switch and PC.

Following the passing of Akira Toriyama last month, you might think we have no magnum opus from the legendary mind. You would be wrong though. Across coarse, rough sand drenched world of Sand Land, where the sand gets literally everywhere, Humans and demons live and suffer side by side as water becomes scarce. Take on the role of Fiend Prince Beelzebub and his trusty friend the Sheriff Rao as they set out to find the mythical Legendary Soring hidden in the dunes of the dessert. Build vehicles that will help you take on enemies, traverse difficult lands as you seek to build up a lawful thriving city. Embark on Toriyama’s masterful manga made game when Sand Land releases April 26th for PS4/PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Stellar Blade:

Lightning-fast combat, thrilling boss fights, and a gorgeous yet destroyed world to explore make Stellar Blade one of the most anticipated games this month. Having recently played the demo, Stellar Blade is a solid mash-up of Sekiro, Lies of P and Nier Automata rolled into developer Shift Up’s emotional narrative Unleash graceful brutality when Stellar Blade releases April 26th Exclusively for PlayStation 5.
