FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (KWTX) - Bill Nye The Science Guy is heading to the Texas Hill Country to experience The Great American Eclipse on April 8.

Nye will be in Fredericksburg at the Planetary Society’s Eclipse-O-Rama 2024, a camping festival on April 7 and 8. The event will feature music, science, lodging and more, according to its website.

Why Fredericksburg? The Texas city is an International Dark Sky Community, one of fewer than forty in the world. “This rural location ensures a dazzling view of the night skies above,” organizers said.

The festival will include special celebrity guests, including: Tim Dodd, the Everyday Astronaut; Bob Pflugfelder, better known as Science Bob; and YouTuber Mark Rober.

Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy science, art, music, and the wonders of space at The Lodge at Country Inn Cottages, a 200-acre private ranch that “will be transformed into the ultimate Planetary Society member meet-up!”

General admission tickets for the festival starts at $325. Those interested in attending can register online.
