(KWTX) - Here is this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:

Taqueria El Mexicano Grille #9 at 1420 North Valley Mills Drive in Waco failed a renewal inspection with an 82.

According to the food safety worker, some rice was thrown out because it wasn’t kept to the right temperature for the right amount of time.

Raw shrimp, beef, and salmon were thawing improperly.

And there were food handlers missing their certifications.

Some of these were repeat violations.

Fazoli’s at 919 South 6th Street in Waco failed an inspection with an 84.

According to the food safety worker, there was a container of breadstick croutons on the prep table that were out-of-date.

The business needed an air-gap at the customer beverage station, and rusty racks that needed to be replaced.

An employee wasn’t wearing the required hair and beard restraints.

There was standing water inside a cooler.

Outback Steakhouse at 4500 Franklin Avenue in Waco failed a renewal inspection with an 86.

According to the food safety worker, the sliced tomatoes, chopped lettuce, cooked asparagus, cooked rice, sliced pineapple, and strawberries were not keep properly.

They were thrown out.

Multiple whole tomatoes inside the cooler had a gray mold-like substance on them.

All of these restaurants needed re-inspections.

And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to Oak Street Bakery at 504 West Oak Street in West.

You can’t have a bakery in the Czech capitol of Texas and not sell kolaches.

This one has sausage and cheese, apple, cherry, lemon, and more, plus oatmeal raisin cookies.

Hint. Hint.

Wedding season is coming up.

Several reviews rave about the beautifully decorated wedding cakes and cupcake towers.

Check them out.
