(KWTX) - Here is this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:

Golden Corral at 618 North Valley Mills Drive in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a 92.

According to the food safety worker, the chicken salad, macaroni salad, spinach, cooked chicken and ham, and sliced tomatoes at the salad bar cooler were not kept cool enough.

This place needed a re-inspection.

Sweet Tooth Donuts at 2330 Verna Lee Boulevard in Harker Heights got a 93 on a recent inspection.

According to the food safety worker, some employees do not have the required food handler certification.

There were gnats near the drain under the sink along with a leak.

There were food particles on the refrigerator gasket, residue from the microwave, and grease build-up on the crate and some racks next to the deep fryer.

MOD Pizza at 3007 East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen scored a 95 on a recent inspection.

According to the food safety worker, some employees didn’t have the proper food handler certifications.

The concrete floor in front of the pizza ovens was pitted and needed cleaning and repairs.

The walk-in cooler floor was deteriorated and exposing rock aggregate.

It needed repairs.

The facility also needed some general cleaning.

And this week’s Clean Plate award goes to The Grape at 2006 North Valley Mills Drive in Waco.

This is actually a wine bar and bistro tucked away in the Ridgewood Village shopping center, where the chef personally selects the freshest local ingredients.

Here’s just a taste of what it has to offer: Atlantic salmon served over basmati rice and grilled asparagus, finished with a broken basil-red pepper pesto, and fresh arugula.

Let that rest in your mind for a bit.
