Jeff and Mrs. Picker made a day after a trip to Dallas to do some sourcing on the way back to East Texas. In this episode of Kitchen Pickin', we take a look at what they found.
If you’re considering jumping into the world of picking, it’s important you are careful with the risks. We can talk all day about what to watch for (BOLO) but understand all of these only matter if the price is right. We buy certain brands automatically if they’re a dollar or less and sometimes we’re wrong about them. But when we are, we’re only out a dollar. Here are four brands we picked up this week that are worth getting if they are a dollar or less.
The death pile is every reseller’s nightmare. It’s what we call the pile of stuff that we’ve collected over the years that hasn’t been listed. We even have our own support group. But I’m happy to say we’ve been working on the death pile over the slow sourcing months of the winter and some of these items are featured today.
This week on Kitchen Pickin’, Jeff shows off absolutely none of his picks. That’s because he was on an annual trip with the boys. But he has some stuff picked out by his wife.
Christmas shopping is a yearlong affair on the picking front. But now that we’re hitting the fall side of sales, the holiday is becoming even more prominent as it’s time to buy your bargain Christmas decor before it gets too cold for outdoor sales.
We keep thinking the sales will slow down as the temperatures keep heating up. But we’re still managing to fill our Saturday mornings with some good stuff.
The temps hovered around 100 degrees, but the sales were even hotter. Check out some of the stuff Jeff picked up this week, with items from the advertising world, as well as a Korean War-era kitchen item.
Jeff looks forward to estate sales because there usually is a good variety of items from the 70s, 60s and even 50s. But this time we found a sale full of toys, clothes and kitchen items from more recent times.
A few weeks ago Jeff’s daughter, Emily, texted Jeff and said she had a “good idea” to join Jeff and Steph on East Texas Kitchen Pickin’. Of course Emily’s father and Mama Steph couldn’t tell her no.
This week, Jeff and Mrs. Picker decided to take a little tour of East Texas, rather than stay close to home. There were several estate sales around the region so we think we made the right choice as there were many treasures on the cheap!
We definitely have our favorite kitchen/garage sale topics on East Texas Kitchen Pickin’ and there are usually one of about six different brands that make it on the show. This week, all five “brands” are repeat visitors.
This week on Kitchen Pickin’, the gang does a deep dive into our favorite American foods and name brands. That’s just in addition to Jeff showing off his latest finds.
Garage sale season is in full swing with what seems like a bright neon sign at every turn on Saturdays. This week, Jeff shows off some finds from an estate sale from a couple weeks ago.
