Man found dead sitting under tree after being hit by car in Vancouver, police say

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - A man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Vancouver on Monday afternoon, according to police.
Around 1:10 p.m. Vancouver Police officers responded to a 911 call about a man under a tree, and found the victim dead when they arrived on scene.
Officers believed a car hit him while he was sitting under the tree. A short time later, they found the car that hit him, abandoned.

Video officers found led them to a white female with “distinctive clothing” leaving the scene.
Police used a K9 to track her down and found a woman fitting the description nearby and detained her for more questioning.
The woman has been identified as Luella Robertson.
She was arrested and booked into jail on the charges of vehicular homicide and an outstanding Washington State Department of Corrections warrant.
The victim has not yet been identified.
No further details were immediately available as the investigation continued.
