PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A man who was found dead in a motel parking lot after a shooting in the Madison South neighborhood late Saturday night has been identified by Portland police.

Just before midnight, officers responded to the 3600 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue and found a man dead in a motel parking lot. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Donte Eugene Mathis, of Portland.

Mathis’ death has been determined to be homicide by gunshot wound.

A man was shot and killed in northeast Portland on Saturday just before midnight, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The suspect or suspects left the scene before police were called, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Police have not released any further information at this time.
