BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) - A woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing trading cards of Mickey Mantle, Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant in Beaverton, police said on Monday.

On Sunday, a man who was taking the MAX from the Portland International Airport to Hillsboro accidentally dropped his backpack as he got off the train at the Beaverton Transit Center, according to police.

Surveillance video showed a woman, identified by police as Dawn Castro, 34, picking up the backpack within seconds of it being dropped.

Police said Castro kept the bag and didn’t make any attempt to find the owner or turn it in to authorities.

Inside the backpack were rare sports trading cards, including those of Mickey mantle, Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant, as well as valuable jewelry, police said.

Police said Castro pawned some of the jewelry at a local pawn shop but kept the more valuable items, including the Mickey Mantle card, which is valued at nearly $5,000.

Detectives found more of the stolen items on Facebook Marketplace and arranged a meeting with Castro posing as buyers.

Around noon on Monday, Castro was arrested by Beaverton police and they found all of the stolen items in her possession, according to a statement. Detectives were also able to return the pawned jewelry to the victim.

Castro is facing Aggravated Theft in the 1st Degree.
