Vancouver opens cooling centers, misting stations

VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) - The City of Vancouver will have a number of cooling centers available this weekend to help combat the extreme heat.

The following areas will have misting stations:

  • Couve Collective, 1009 W. 13th St. Days open:  Saturday July 6 from 2:30 - 6:30 p.m.
  • Outpost Safe Stay, 1140 NE 51st Circle. Days open: July 6, 7, 8 from 2-6 p.m.
  • Living Hope Church, 2711 NE Andresen. Days open: Saturday July 6 from 2:30-7 p.m. and Sunday July 7 from 1-7 p.m.

The following areas will have daytime cooling centers:

  • United Methodist Church, 15804 SE Mill Plain Boulevard. Days open: July 6, 8, 9 from 2-8 p.m. No referral needed, pets welcome (leash or cage). Cool beverages, light snacks.
  • Living Hope Church, 2711 NE Andresen Road. Days open: Saturday July 6 from 2:30-7p.m., Sunday July 7 1-7p.m. No referral is needed.
  • St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1309 Franklin Street. Saturday July 6 from 11a.m.-6p.m., Sunday July 7 from 11:30am-6pm, Monday July 8 from 11a.m.-6p.m. No referral needed.
