SEASIDE Ore. (KPTV) - A two-alarm fire near Seaside destroyed a house and closed Highway 101 for several hours on Thursday night, according to the City of Seaside.

At about 9 p.m., firefighters responded to a house fire about two miles south of Seaside, and found a single-story house completely in flames.

Crews closed the highway in both directions as they tackled the fire. The road fully reopened just before midnight.

The Red Cross is helping to make sure the displaced homeowner is taken care of.
