12-year-old boy killed, 2 seriously hurt in fiery crash in Linn County

LINN COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - A boy was killed and two men were seriously hurt in a fiery crash in Linn County Wednesday night, according to Oregon State Police.

At about 6:17 p.m., emergency crews responded to a crash involving two pickup trucks on Highway 20, near milepost 21. OSP says an investigation showed a westbound gray Dodge Ram 1500 crossed several lanes of travel for unknown reasons and hit an eastbound blue Dodge Ram 2500. The gray Dodge Ram became fully engulfed in flames shortly after the crash.

A 12-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the gray Dodge Ram, died at the scene. OSP did not provide the boy’s name.

The driver of the gray Dodge Ram was removed from the burning truck and taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the blue Dodge Ram was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The current condition of the two drivers is not known.

Traffic on Highway 20 was impacted for about three hours during the investigation. OSP says the cause remains under investigation.
