PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Officers with the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force arrested a suspect on an outstanding warrant following a high-speed chase on NE Sandy Boulevard on Monday.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for 37-year-old Tyler Louis Henderson on May 18, the fifth federal warrant issued to him from a 2018 U.S. District Court case for being a felon in possession of a gun. Henderson originally served 36 months in prison with three years of supervised release.

Officers with the task force located Henderson at the Aspire Columbia Ridge Apartments at 15910 NE Sandy Boulevard on Monday, driving a black 2010 BMW with stolen plates. Officers decided to take Henderson into custody within the complex parking lot.

However, Henderson saw the officers and sped on to Sandy Boulevard, driving over spike strips and past police cars staged at the parking lot exit. Driving on the rims of the car, he led authorities on a high-speed chase heading west, exceeding 70 miles-per-hours, more than twice the posted speed limit.

He eventually pulled into a blocked hotel driveway, and when he tried to exit, rammed into a police car and injured two U.S. Marshals deputies.

Henderson’s vehicle was disabled, but he refused to surrender. Officers then used non-lethal force to subdue Henderson, remove him from his car, and take him into custody.

The U.S. Marshals Service noted that this is the third time that Henderson has fled from federal authorities. He previously evaded arrest by car in November 2018, where he rammed into multiple police cars, and in February 2023, when he fled on foot and was found with a loaded gun.
