Watch: Auburn hosts 58th annual Veterans Day parade Saturday

The city of Auburn held its 58th Annual Veterans Day Parade and Observance Saturday at 11 a.m. along Main Street.

KOMO News anchors Lee Stoll and Theron Zahn hosted the parade, which was livestreamed on this page from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as it took place along Main Street in Auburn. This year's livestream is brought to you in part by the nonprofit Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Officials with the city of Auburn said in part:

The City of Auburn is proud to be a Vietnam War Commemorative Partner and considers it an honor and privilege to host this annual event. Auburn has hosted the Veterans Parade since 1965. Now in its 58th year, the parade has grown into one of the largest parades of its kind in the United States of America.

The parade typically boasts over 200 units and nearly 6,000 participants, including 25+ marching bands, military vehicles, veterans' units, honor guards and more.

The parade route travels along Main Street from E Street to A Street NW/SW and the entire day's activities last from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Below is a list of other events happening Saturday in Auburn:

  • Community breakfast 7-9 a.m. at Auburn Senior Activity Center at 808 Ninth Street SE. The breakfast is $10/person and includes pancakes, eggs, ham, juice or coffee.
  • Remembrance Ceremony and Lighting of the Flame 9:45-10:15 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park at 411 E street SE.
  • Auburn VFW Post 1741 Open House 12 p.m. This Open House is exclusively for Veterans and Active Duty Personnel. Come mix, meet and mingle with fellow Veterans!
  • Auburn Veterans Day Marching Band Competition 1-10 p.m. at Auburn Memorial Stadium at 801 Fourth Street NE. Watch the 25+ bands in the parade, then look on as they compete in the Field Competition later in the afternoon at Auburn Memorial Stadium. Admission charged for Field Competition.
  • Auburn Noon Lions Veterans Luncheon 1:30 p.m. at Merrill Gardens of Auburn at 18 First Street SE.
