ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A suspect has been charged with the murder of a 34-year-old man in February 2024.

James Teague, Jr. was fatally shot on Feb. 15 in the 200 block of Chambers Road. On July 2, Brandyn Hargrove, 20, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

According to court documents, Hargrove was a passenger in a car that pulled onto a GoGo Mart parking lot on Chambers Road. The driver’s mother was reportedly in the backseat and pointed out Teague’s car. The mother said Teague had attempted to assault her several days earlier. Hargrove reportedly stated, “I’ll take care of this,” and shot Tegue.

Hargrove was identified as the shooter by the driver of the car and the mother, police said. He is being held on a $500,000, no 10%, cash bond.
