HEAD TO. OMAHA.ORG. WE KNOW TEACHERS ARE GREAT WITH HELPING OUR KIDS IN MATH READING AND SCIENCE, BUT THEY ALSO GUIDE THEM WHEN IT COMES TO EMOTIONAL LEARNING THAT CONCEPT SENT US TO MEADOWS ELEMENTARY IN RALSTON. THEY SAY YOU THEY’RE THE WINNER OF THIS MONTH’S $2,500 CASH IN FOR SCHOOLS. GRANT. IT’S OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH MEDICAL SOLUTIONS TO HELP LOCAL SCHOOLS WITH NEEDED PROJECTS. ELEMENTARY COUNSELOR CARLY JOHNSON SAYS THIS WILL PUT A CALM DOWN CORNER IN EVERY CLASSROOM AT MEADOWS, THEY’RE PLACING IS WHERE STUDENTS CAN GO WHEN THEY’RE FEELING ANGRY, FRUSTRATED, SAD OR OVERWHELMED. SO WE KNOW THAT KIDS CAN’T LEARN IF THEY ARE NOT REGULATED AND IF THEY DON’T FEEL SAFE. SO HAVING THIS SPACE ALLOWS THEM TO GO TO THEIR AREA AND USE THOSE COPING SKILLS THAT I USUALLY TEACH IN SMALL GROUP SESSIONS OR IN CLASSROOM SESSIONS. THE MONEY WILL OUTFIT ALL 16 CLASSROOMS WITH COZY RUGS, POSTERS, VISUAL TIMERS, STUFFED ANIMALS, BOOKS AND NOISE CANCELING HEADPHONES. OKAY, IF YOU’RE A TEACHER OR KNOW OF ONE WHO COULD USE $2,500 TO HELP KIDS IN THEIR CLASSROOM KNOW WE ALL DO GO
