BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - After former Texas A&M head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle left for the University of Texas earlier this week, several names have emerged as potential candidates for the next head coach for the Aggies.

D1baseball.com’s Kendall Rogers reported that Oklahoma’s Skip Johnson, Wake Forest’s Tom Walter, and former A&M assistant Michael Earley were a few candidates who were interviewed on Friday.

Several former A&M players including Jordan Thompson, Austin Bost, Trevor Werner, Jack Moss, Brett Minnich, Logan Britt, and Dylan Rock opined that the Aggies should hire Earley. Current player Hayden Schott has also expressed his interest in Earley.

Earley recently left with Schlossnagle to be an assistant at Texas.
