SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY/Gray News) - A South Dakota woman is calling it a career after nearly five decades of working in the fast-food industry.

June Aulner has been a shift leader for many years at Burger King, and she’s been a steady hand for multiple restaurant locations in the Sioux Falls area.

On Friday, she retired after 48 years on the job with her family and co-workers coming to celebrate her last day on the job.

Aulner has worked at Burger King since 1976 and has had plenty of memories made with her fellow workers and customers through the years.

“It warms my heart when I have somebody coming in or going through our drive-thru and they say I trained them when they were in college or before they moved away and got married,” Aulner said.

Aulner also said she is “done with early mornings” as she looks to spend more time with her grandchildren now that she is retired.
