9-year-old Amish girl dies after being dragged by horse she was training, reports say
LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. (Gray News) - A 9-year-old Amish girl was reportedly killed after being dragged by a horse in Pennsylvania.
According to the Lancaster County coroner, the young girl was injured by a horse at an area farm on Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m.
WGAL reports that the horse dragged the girl about a quarter of a mile. She was taken to Lancaster General Hospital but later died.
Multiple reports stated that the girl was training the horse when it somehow became spooked and took off, dragging her.
The girl’s cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries with her death ruled an accident, according to the coroner’s report.
Officials said they were not immediately releasing the girl’s name until her family had been contacted.
