Wildlife officer rescues injured bald eagle

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT/Gray News) - Wildlife officials in Tennessee say one of their officers helped rescue an injured bald eagle this week.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, officer Justin Pinkston picked up the bald eagle from Douglas Lake on Wednesday.

The agency said the eagle was found to have a fractured femur.

Officer Pinkston ended up taking it to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine where it remained for treatment.
