Union Pacific Railroad has called Omaha home for 150 years

OMAHA, Nebraska (KBTX) - It’s championship eve at the College World Series. Texas A&M and Tennessee meet for an all SEC showdown and neither program has won a national championship in baseball.

A&M has called Omaha home for over a week and just 150 feet from the stadium is a Union Pacific locomotive and a heritage fleet on display.

Abraham Lincoln created Union Pacific after signing the Pacific Railway Act into law in 1862. Ground was then broken in Omaha one year later in 1863.

Nearly 8,000 Union Pacific employees live in Nebraska and are working to connect and support the United States.

A&M fans are used to holding up whatever number of fingers they want when they hear the train coming by Blue Bell Park.

This train might be stationary but fans are able to stop by and tour the various locomotives and historic cars that are parked for fans during the College World Series.
