BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - In anticipation of this afternoon and evening’s storms, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the majority of the Brazos Valley through 6pm Tuesday.

This watch includes Houston, Madison, Brazos, Burleson, Washington, Grimes, Walker, Trinity, Montgomery, Lee, San Jacinto, Waller, and Austin Counties.

These storms look to move across our area in two rounds. The first is slated to move through our northern counties just before midday, exiting just before your afternoon commute. Round two will be a late evening/overnight event between 11pm-5am.

The primary concern will be for damaging wind gusts and large hail, but all severe hazards will be possible today.

Storms are expected to dissipate as we head into the overnight hours, before our next round moves in Tuesday evening. The latest updates can be found on-air, online, and on your KBTX Weather app.
