BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - May is the Aggieland Humane Society Pet of the Week for May 24th. She is believed to be some type of cattle dog. She has speckles all under her neck and on her feet. She is about a year-and-a-half, and is full size, ready to be a family pet.

She seems to know some commands, including sit and possibly shake, as she tried to get some extra treats by lifting her paw.

Right now, Aggieland Humane has lots of animals available for adoption. Executive Director Katrina Ross says they have had a record breaking numbers of intakes. She says in the past two weeks, they’ve had 224 pets come in, with only 100 being adopted or going back to their families. There are puppies, cats and even guinea pigs.

They are encouraging the community to come in and adopt, or volunteer.

Free micro-chipping continues through the month of May. If you have a pet at home and they are not chipped, Ross says you can come in and get it done.
