BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - As of 3pm CDT, the Severe Thunderstorm WATCH that was in effect for most of the area has been allowed to expire. Though we can’t rule out a few more showers and storms before the end of the afternoon, we are expecting activity to remain below severe limits.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for Montgomery, Waller, and San Jacinto counties until 7pm.

Early morning thunderstorms have already dropped hail just to the north of the Brazos Valley, with some more development possible through the rest of the morning and into the afternoon.

While most of us will not see severe weather today, there is a three-pronged concern for the strongest storms to contain hail, strong wind, and exacerbate the ongoing flooding issues we have had for the past couple weeks.

With Mother’s Day plans in mind, it’s a good idea to keep your KBTX Weather app handy throughout the day today.
