NWS confirms EF-1 tornado near Bedias Sunday

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Houston office of the National Weather Service has surveyed the second of two tornadoes produced by storms on Sunday, April 28th.

After examining the path and damage of the tornado, NWS confirms that an EF-1 tornado moved from about CR115 to Union Road, west of Route 90 in Grimes/Madison counties. The tornado was on the ground for an estimated 12 minutes total from 6:25-6:37pm.

The agency has confirmed that the tornado produced peak wind gusts around 90 mph, with a path 4.77 miles long and 100 yards wide. The damage was relatively limited, with uprooted trees, downed limbs, and a few damaged roofs and garages. Thankfully, no injuries were sustained from this storm.
