BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - TORNADO WATCH has been canceled for the Brazos Valley. Below is an overview of Monday’s storm chance.

  • WHO: Milam, Robertson, Leon, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Houston
  • WHEN: Until 8pm Monday evening
  • IMPACTS: Wind gusts up to 70mph, scattered hail to the size of an apple (3″ in diameter), a couple tornadoes possible in the strongest storms.
  • WHAT TO MONITOR: A northward-moving warm front has allowed thunderstorms to develop in a very unstable air mass. Most activity through early evening is expected to develop and move along this boundary as it works its way north through the evening.

The best window for the strongest storms is between now and 10pm Monday evening. As this line moves to the north, the intensity will ramp up with the highest likelihood of storms positioning themselves north of OSR.

While not every storm will be severe, the strongest storms will have the potential to drop hail to the size of eggs, which is 3″ in diameter, wind gusts 70mph or greater, and a few tornadoes will be possible as well.
