After some morning showers to kick off Friday, skies cleared up around midday which allowed some sunshine to peek through. While that may make it seem like the storm threat for today is over, the afternoon sunshine is actually providing more fuel for a second round of storms later this afternoon and into the evening.

In terms of timing, a few storms will begin to push in from the west around 3:00 pm, and will become more widespread closer to 4:00 pm into the rest of the evening. These storms will mostly be pushing across the southern counties, but make sure to stay weather aware no matter where you are located in the Brazos Valley, as the impacts associated with these storms may be severe. The most likely impacts with these storms will be hail and damaging winds. We’ll look to wrap up these storms around 10:00 pm this evening, but until then, we will keep you updated on how these storms are progressing.
